This past weekend we celebrated my hunky hubby’s 32nd birthday. Yay! Curtis loves all things chocolate peppermint so I got to work on pinterest and researched a winning combo of candy cane recipes.

I chose the chocolate peppermint brownie cake from Tidy Mom’s blog along with the peppermint candy cane crunch buttercream frosting from Picky Palate (click links for recipes). Needless to say the two complimented each other quite well. WE DEMOLISHED IT. It was actually even better the second day which is usually not the case with cake but I’m not complaining. We may or may not have eaten 2-3 slices a day for a couple of days afterward.
